Home Sales Prices Increase in Montgomery from Sept. 2012-13

The number of homes sold year over year, however, dropped slightly.

The 33 single, detached homes sold in Montgomery during September 2013 represented a 8 percent decrease over September 2012, when 36 homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe).

Thirty-five homes were sold in Montgomery during August 2013. 

Median sales prices increased year over year though, up 22.5 percent to $166,000 from $135,500 last year.

In the far west suburbs listed, Geneva experienced the most significant increase in sales over the same period last year. Batavia had the greatest percentage increase in median sales price, up 40.4 percent. 

Overall, September 2013 sales in the Chicago suburbs were up 30.7 percent compared to the same time last year. The median sale price for detached homes increased 12.6 percent from the previous September, and the number of homes under contract rose by 30.4 percent
