Montgomery Winner in Annual Water Taste Test Contest

Montgomery competed with nine other entries from communities throughout Kane County.

Editor's note: The following is a press release from the village of Montgomery. The village of Montgomery was deemed the winner in the 2012 Kane County Water Association Annual Water Taste Test Contest. Utilities Supervisor Jack Rosenstiel and Water Operators Dan Gier and Adam Hake entered a sample of the village’s water in the contest, and subsequently represented the village at the Kane County Water Association’s Dec. 20 meeting. Water samples were to be submitted at room temperature and treated in the normally accepted manner for the particular community. Montgomery’s sample was drawn from the main tap at the water treatment plant. A panel of independent judges rated the water samples on taste, odor and clarity. Montgomery competed with…

Counterpoint: 'Wanderlust' a Waste of Time

Katherine says Wanderlust falls flat.

Katherine Hunnicutt of Woodridge was chosen to write a review with Dave Wilson last week. Despite the considerable charms of Paul Rudd and enough interesting questions for three movies, Wanderlust never worked up more than a passing desire in this reviewer. In fact, the overabundance of shallowly developed ideas is probably what contributed heavily to its tendency to fall flat. The beginning was catchy enough, with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston playing a couple of professionals in Manhattan whose dream of owning property in the Big Apple is finally fulfilled, and then quickly dashed on the rocks of unemployment.
