Felony Charges Filed Against Woman Who Alleged Rape Tuesday

Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, faces three counts of felony disorderly conduct.

The woman who told police a uniformed man raped her in a cornfield at gunpoint has been charged with filing a false police report, authorities said. Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, will be taken into custody with a bail of $10,000 when she finishes treatement at an area hospital, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office. She faces three felonies. "During the course of the investigation, detectives from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office evaluated the physical evidence recovered during the investigation, photographs, leads developed during the investigation and witness statements, including the initial statements from Brown," the news release states. Police Impersonator Rape Did Not Happen: Sheriff

Kendall County Sheriff's police said Thursday that no sexual assault nor police imposter were involved.

A 33-year-old Sandwich woman was not raped at gunpoint by a police imposter, Kendall County Sheriff's Police announced on their Facebook page. "The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is cancelling the community alert concerning the reported police impersonator that allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on Griswold Springs Road in unincorporated Plano," the post stated. "The crime did not occur. The investigation into the incident will continue." The sheriff's office posted the information about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, about two days after the woman claimed she was pulled over on Griswold Springs Road about 0.25 miles west of Little Rock Road outside Plano.
