Felony Charges Filed Against Woman Who Alleged Rape Tuesday

The woman who told police a uniformed man raped her in a cornfield at gunpoint has been charged with filing a false police report, authorities said. Annette C. Brown, 33, of Sandwich, will be taken into custody with a bail of $10,000 when she finishes treatement at an area hospital, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office. She faces three felonies. "During the course of the investigation, detectives from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office evaluated the physical evidence recovered during the investigation, photographs, leads developed during the investigation and witness statements, including the initial statements from Brown," the news release states.
