Police Respond to Reports of Man Carrying Gun at St. Patrick's Church

A juvenile male was found with an Airsoft pistol in the parking lot of the church, according to police.

Yorkville police responded in force to calls reporting someone with a gun in front of St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Monday afternoon. "It was mayhem for a while," Police Chief Richard Hart said after it was all over late Monday afternoon. Sometime between 4:30 and 4:45 p.m., a 911 call reported a young man carrying a handgun, Hart said. Photo of Aldi Robbery Suspect Released

Armed robbery suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money Thursday night.

He indicated he was armed, but did not display a weapon, Police Chief Richard Hart said Thursday night. The suspect's disguise prevented witnesses from providing a clear descritption, Hart said. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of …

So I wonder if he had an accomplice who stayed with the bike and kept it running. No real good place to 'cycle' to in that area. It would look strange to see 2 people, one a big man, piled on a bicycle and booking through a parking lot.   more ›

Kendall Police: How to Respond to Unmarked Squad Cars

Local authorities are emphasizing safety, their procedures after a 33-year-old woman reported being raped by a possible police impersonator.

Authorities are reminding motorists how to respond to unmarked police cars after a 33-year-old Sandwich woman reported being raped by a possible police imposter Tuesday evening. The Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Yorkville police and Oswego police all have unmarked squad cars in their fleets, so motorists should call 911 or travel to a more populated area if they suspect an unmarked vehicle trying to pull them over is not driven by a police officer. The advice comes the day after a woman reported that a uniformed man driving a blue Ford Crown Victoria with red and blue flashing lights pulled her over on Griswold Springs Road near Plano. She reported that the man pulled a handgun and forced her into a nearby cornfield, where he raped and …

It is a known fact that an extremely low percentage of sexual assault reports are false. It appears this case may fall into that 4 percent of reports that are fabricated. Let it be known that the CDC lists sexual assault as one of the united states most under reported crimes. Most people never report sexual assault.   more ›
