Teacher Contract Narrowly Approved by Oswego Education Association Teachers

The three-year contract addresses salary and pay steps and high school teaching hours.

The Oswego Education Association (OEA) and the Oswego 308 board of education have officially agreed on a three-year contract. Members of the OEA voted Jan. 18 to approve the contract, which the board of education had previously unanimously approved on Jan. 14 with board president Bill Walsh abstaining from the vote because his wife is a teacher in the district. Oswego Board of Education and Oswego Education Association Reach Tentative Agreement on Teacher Contract

Tentative agreeement will be voted upon in January.

The bargaining teams of the Oswego Education Association and Oswego Community Unit School District 308 have reached a tentative agreement on all outstanding contract issues late on Wednesday, December 19.  The new contract, once ratified by the union members and the Board of Education, will be effective until June 30, 2015. Board of Education President Bill Walsh stated the entire Board is pleased that the bargaining team has reached an agreement with the OEA.  “We found common ground and I appreciate the work everyone did to cone to this agreement,” he said.
