Barbara Anne Paul, age 72, of Aurora, IL formerly of Montgomery, IL died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, IL. She was born July 21,1940 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Leonard and Rose nee Mocarski Cieslak. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a guidance counselor at IVVC in Sandwich, IL, Rosary High School in Aurora, IL, as well as well as in Newark, IL, Naperville, IL, and Royal Oak, MI schools. She had also served on the Oswego Library District board. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Paul, grandson Riley Evan Odehnal. Robert E Berkland, 88 years, of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born January 11, 1925 in CHicago, IL the son of the late Hogan Konraden and Mabel P nee Phillips Berkland. He served his country honorably with the US Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He had worked as an automobile mechanic for many years prior to his retirement. Capt. Brandon Lee Cyr, USAF, 28 years, of Shiloh, IL, family of Oswego, IL died while serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, when the plane he was commanding crashed in Afghanistan on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was born September 16, 1984 in Aspen, CO the son of CDR Phillip G Cyr, U.S. Navy and Deborah A (Tidaback) Cyr. Brandon was a member of the 906th Air Refueling Squadron stationed at Scott Air Force Base in IL where he played a vital role in the Total Force Integrated 126th Air Refueling Wing. A spirited officer, pilot, and friend, Capt. Cyr was known for his natural ability to lead and mentor others. Jeffrey R. Galas, 56, of Oswego passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at his residence. Jeffrey was born January 26, 1957, in Peru, Illinois to Raymond & Irene (Mikus) Galas. After graduating from Bradley University, he worked as an engineer for over 25 years for USA Forms. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Oswego, the Knights of Columbus and the Lambda Chi fraternity of Bradley University. He married Sherry Tostovarsnik on March 17, 1984 and she survives. Faith was born on May 5, 1993, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Crystal Ann (Brown) and Brian Richard Robinson. She was baptized at Zion Chapel United Methodist Church and grew up in Stuttgart, Arkansas until May of 1998 when her family moved to Oswego. Eleanor Carter, age 84 of Montgomery, IL, formerly of Melvin, IL, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at her home. She was born on January 19, 1929 in Elmhurst, IL, the daughter of John Richard and Harriet (Rockwell) Wilson. Eleanor was united in marriage on November 29, 1952 to Mr. Bruce E. Carter and they spent the next 60 happy years together. She was a 1946 graduate of York Community High School in Elmhurst, IL.
