Kane Sheriff: Man in Fatal Crash Was in Another Crash Same Evening

The 54-year-old man refused a ride out of the area after the first Dec. 10 crash, police said. He died later that night.

A 54-year-old man that was fatally struck by a pickup truck on Monday was involved in another car crash earlier that day, police said. Dean Craig of Aurora was walking in the area of Dugan and Jericho roads in unincorporated Sugar Grove Township after he was involved in an earlier traffic crash to the north. The first crash occurred at about 6 p.m. on Monday, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office. In the first crash, Craig said he was traveling north on Dugan Road about .2 miles south of Granart Road. He was making a left turn into a driveway of a residence to turn around, the Sheriff's Office said. Updated: Gun Recovered After Montgomery Shooting; Officer Stable After Being Struck by Car

Sgt. Adam Kuncl was injured while responding to a report of shots fired Saturday morning on Oakton Road; Kendall J. Collier, 18, of Oswego is charged with aggravated DUI in the incident. It's his fourth arrest since May.

Updated 1:45 p.m. Sunday Montgomery police have recovered the .45-caliber handgun believed to have been used in a late-night shooting on Oakton Road, according to the Chicago Tribune. The gun was found inside a black Dodge pickup truck at the scene of the shooting, which caused a mass exodus from a party in the 700 block of Oakton Road shortly after midnight Saturday, Chief Daniel Meyers told the Tribune. The officer who responded to the report of shots fired, Sgt. Adam Kuncl, was struck by a vehicle at the scene and seriously injured police, said. His condition has since stablized. Man Killed by Train in Aurora Wednesday Night

Police said the 43-year-old Aurora man was on the tracks just north of Jericho Road at 9:30 Wednesday night.

An Aurora man was killed by a train late Wednesday on the tracks just north of Jericho Road in Aurora, Kane County Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Pat Gengler said. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., Gengler said. The man, whose name has not been released, was 43 years old, and was on the tracks north of Jericho at Terry Avenue, Gengler said. Kane County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death, but foul play is not suspected. That area of Aurora is in the Montgomery and Countryside Fire Protection District, and the department responded to the scene. The Kane County Coroner was on the scene around 11:30 Wednesday night. Missing Aurora Girl Returns Home

The Kane County Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday that Desiree Olivarez, 12, has returned home after going missing Monday night.
