Adopt Me!

Adopt Me: Darling Denny Loves to Play

This mix-breed puppy was rescued from a shelter in southern Indiana.

Denny is a 7- or 8-month-old mix whose owners never claimed him from a crowded Indiana shelter, so he ended up in an area foster home, according to his Petfinder listing. He's about 25 pounds and likely will grow a bit more. He loves to play and go for walks. He'll be at Go Dog Go in Oswego from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday with Rover Rescue.

Adopt Me: Seraphita is Looking for a Nice Quiet Home

1-year-old being fostered at Go Dog Go.

Seraphita is a 1-year-old cat from a pound in North Carolina who is up to date on vaccines, spayed and feline tested negative. She is currently in foster care at Go Dog Go in downtown Oswego, and anyone wishing to meet her can stop by the store at any time.  According to her petfinder.com profile "Seraphita is looking for a quieter home, as loud noises and excessive activity make her nervous. (She) loves to be petted and will tolerate being held for a time. She is fine with cats and would be fine with a small cat-friendly dog. Seraphita is good with children as well. She is very sweet and have tons of love to give!!" For more information, call Go Dog Go at 630-551-DOGS.

Adopt Me: Froggy Needs a Family

This puggle wants to snuggle.

Froggy is a 1-year-old pug/beagle mix—known in the designer dog world as a "puggle". Froggy was found as a stray in southern Indiana, and ended up at an overcrowded high-kill animal shelter. When he wasn't claimed by his owners, he made the journey up to Rover Rescue in Aurora to find his new home. Froggy is neutered and weighs about 15 pounds. He got his name because he is a pro at "civil disobedience." When he doesn't want to walk somewhere, he will lay down on his belly with his back legs sticking out like frog legs. He really is a funny little guy, and makes all kinds of cute little pug noises- snorts, grunts, and whimpers, so you'll always know how he feels! He is house-trained, never had an accident and sleeps in a crate at night.  …

Adopt Me: Hail Caesar

This adorable one-year-old cat is looking for a home.

Meet Caesar, a one-year-old domestic cat who is adorable and extremely affectionate. He’s a purring machine, and he loves other cats. (He tolerates dogs, according to the folks at Reach Out Rescue, who saved him from a pound in Chicago.) Caesar is neutered, microchipped, de-wormed and up to date on his vaccines. If you want to meet Caesar for yourself, he’ll be at Go Dog Go, 100 S. Main Street in Oswego, on Saturday for an adoption event, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you miss that, you can still inquire about adopting him: email Kim, Reach Out Rescue’s feline adoption coordinator, at kjayne@rornfp.org. (Reach Out Rescue doesn’t have a building, so there are no viewing hours.)  If you can offer Caesar a forever home, he’ll be grateful!

I thought the same thing. Who knows what the complete circumstances are? And a few hours or minutes with a dog doesn't tell you everything about their behavior. I doubt that they gave up a long time family pet without a lot of thought and consideration. And who am I to decide if their reason was good enough anyway? Not my family, not my newborn babies. "How do you do that..." sounds pretty …   more ›
