Frost Advisory In Effect Overnight

The National Weather Service recommends bringing sensitive plants inside, as temperatures may drop to the low 30s tonight.

If you had any doubts that winter is here, this should dispel them: the National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for tonight and early tomorrow morning. The advisory is in effect starting at 1 a.m.., in 23 suburban counties, including Kane and Kendall. Temperatures could drop to the low 30s, and the NWS suggests bringing sensitive plants inside – the frost could kill them. Frost is expected to develop after midnight, and stay with us through Sunday. That’s coupled with the strong winds that aren’t expected to let up until sometime tomorrow. While the winds will be worst around Lake Michigan, they could get up to 35 miles per hour out here, according to the NWS. They’ll taper off overnight, along with the rain. The advisory also…

Frost Advisory In Effect for Wednesday Morning

The National Weather Service warns that frost can kill uncovered plants and vegetation.

The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for 14 suburban counties, including Kane and Kendall. The advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday. According to the NWS, temperatures are expected to drop into the lower to mid-30s during the early morning hours, which could lead to frost everywhere but the lakefront. Frost can kill plants left outside and uncovered, so if you have outdoor plants you want to keep, you should cover them tonight. The National Weather Service’s flood advisory for the Fox River in Montgomery is still in effect through Saturday, although levels are falling steadily. The river reached 13 feet last week, but as of 7:45 a.m. Tuesday the level was 12.6 feet, and falling. Montgomery …
