Where Will Police Stop You on St. Patrick's Day? They're Not Telling

No-Refusal Weekend: Kane County State's Attorney Joe Mahon: “I will not say which municipalities will participate. I only will announce when we will have the No-Refusal operation."

Want to know where police will be doing random stops on St. Patrick's Day weekend? You might get a Breathalyzer test, but don't hold your breath waiting for an answer to that one. Kane County law-enforcement agencies will work with the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office on a No-Refusal operation during the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day weekend. “This office has a responsibility to prosecute DUI offenders, and to educate the public not to drive when they drink,” Kane County State’s Attorney Joe McMahon said. “As has been our practice, I will not say which municipalities will participate. You have a right of travel, not a right to drive. If you do not want to obey the law then there are consequences. If you want to fight it get drunk get a dui that way you will have standing standing with the court. But that is a lot of money to find out that you are wrong.   more ›

Police Blotter: Man Nets Aggravated DUI Charge

Here is an item from the Montgomery Police Department blotter Feb. 24.

Jon Grizzle, 53, of the 2000 block of Pecos Circle, Montgomery, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped his vehicle for failure to signal at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Douglas Road and Seasons Ridge, Montgomery police said. Grizzle was also charged with felony aggravated DUI after driving on a driver’s license that was previously suspended for DUI, police said.

Police Blotter: Car Accident Leads to DUI Arrest

Reports state Johnson's vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle that was southbound on Route 31.

Samuel Johnson, 32, of the 1000 block of Sill Avenue, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 12:20 a.m. Dec. 9 at Route 31 and Knell Road, Montgomery police said. Reports state Johnson's vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle that was southbound on Route 31. No one was injured in the accident, police said.

Kendall County DUI Arrests: Jan. 5

Dec. 22 Jandra K. Lopez, 19, of the 14400 block of Gerasol Drive, Plainfield, was arrested at 4:00 a.m. at Route 71 and Forrest Ave. and charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level greater than .08, said Oswego police. She was also cited for improper lane usage. Dec. 24 Jesus Cantu-Delgado, 57, of the 100 block of North Calhoun Street, Aurora, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him for failure to dim headlights at 1:12 a.m. Dec. 24 at Douglas and Melrose avenues, police said. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, Sheriff's Office Warns

Law enforcement cracking down on drinking and driving during holiday season.

Information below provided by Kendall County Sheriff's Office: Kendall County Sheriff’s Office announced its plans for the 2012 Holiday “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over/Click It or Ticket” Crackdown. The intensified enforcement effort against drunk drivers and seat belt law violators underscores the disproportionate number of traffic deaths caused by alcohol and failure to buckle up. The stepped-up enforcement began Dec. 17 and run through New Year’s Eve. Enforcement efforts will concentrate on the deadly nighttime hours between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. According to data from the Illinois Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the midnight to 3 a.m. timeframe is the deadliest time on Illinois roadways…

Man Charged with DUI After 6 a.m. Crash

Montgomery man also attempted to leave the scene of the accident, police said.

John Schein, 27, of the 100 block of Revere Court, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at about 6 a.m. Dec. 1 when he made an improper left turn at Douglas Road and Seasons Ridge Boulevard and hit another vehicle, according to Montgomery police. Schein then left the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene of the accident on foot, police said. He was taken into custody a short distance from the scene police said. No one was injured in the incident.

Police Blotter: Montgomery Man Nets Third DUI Arrest

Police stopped his vehicle for failing to yield at an intersection.

Michael Huerta, 37, of the 1200 block of Lebanon Street, Montgomery, was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped his vehicle for failing to yield at an intersection at 4:40 p.m. Nov. 25 at Sherman and Douglas Road, Montgomery police said. Reports state this is Huerta's third drunken driving charge, and police said his license was revoked and he was driving without insurance.

Police Blotter: Speeding Leads to DUI Arrest

Jorge Soberal, 40, was driving 75 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Jorge Soberal, 40, of the 1100 block of Front Street, Aurora was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped his vehicle for driving 75 mph in a 30 mph zone at 2:45 a.m. Nov. 19 at Montgomery Road and Crown Drive, police said. Reports state a passenger of the vehicle, Raul Guzman-Rico, 34, of the 300 block of East New York Street, Aurora, was arrested on a Kane County Sheriff’s Department no insurance warrant.
