Montgomery to Collect Unwanted Prescription Drugs

Unwanted drugs can be turned in from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Police Department.

Editor's note: The following is a press release from the village of Montgomery. The Montgomery Police will be collecting unused, unwanted and expired medication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Montgomery Police Department, at 10 Civic Center Ave. This national effort in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration will focus on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from citizens’ medicine cabinets. The national take-back day provides an opportunity for citizens to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. Montgomery Police to Collect Unused Medication on Oct. 29

The third National Drug Take Back Day will be held in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

If you have old medications you don’t know what to do with, the Montgomery Police Department can help you out. On Saturday, Oct. 29, police – in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration – will hold a drug takeback event at the Montgomery Police Station. The event is part of National Drug Take Back Day, designed to bring national exposure to the issue of pharmaceutical chemical abuse. Police will be collecting unused, unwanted and expired medication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will take controlled, non-controlled and over-the-counter medications, but no intravenous solutions, injectibles, syringes or liquids.
