Barbara Argo Tapped to Return as Village Clerk
Argo, who has held the job twice before for a total of 11 years, was selected by Village President Marilyn Michelini to replace outgoing clerk Carla Cooper. If approved, Argo will serve the rest of her own term, until May 13, 2013.
Meet the new village clerk, same as the old village clerk. Tonight, Montgomery trustees will be asked to consider Village President Marilyn Michelini’s pick as the new clerk: Barbara Argo, who previously held the position for a total of 11 years. If her nomination is approved, this will be Argo’s third go-round as clerk. She was first elected to the position in 1998, and served until 2004, when she stepped down to return to school. She ran again and was elected in 2006, but resigned last March, when time commitments at her full-time job at Caterpillar became too great.
