Black ice, closed bridge The Montgomery Police Department responded to seven car crashes and provided assistance to four other motorists during Monday night’s snowfall. Freezing rain earlier in the day had left the roads slick, and police closed the westbound lane of the Route 30 bridge over the Fox River for about 20 minutes, starting around 6:30 p.m., according to Det. Sgt. Greg Sullivan.
