The Bears didn't look good in their first game against the Packers, and they've looked pretty awful the past two weeks. At 8-5, Chicago's game this weekend against Green Bay carries enormous consequences. Predict the score prior to Sunday's Bears game. Well that was ugly. The Bears' Monday Night Football shellacking at the hands of the 49ers could make Chicago fans worry about the rest of the season. Predicting what could happen is useless, because from week to week, anything can happen. Having said that, Patch is getting in on the action. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s "Light the Night" Walk will take place on October 20 in Elmhurst.
Mike Livorsi was diagnosed with a rare form Leukemia in February 2010. It is called Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia and affects 1500-2000 Americans a year. A few months after Livorsi, a Montgomery resident, was diagnosed another local woman was found to have it as well. “Barely 25 years ago, this type of leukemia had a 100 percent mortality rate,” said Livorsi. “Doctors did not know how to treat it. Today, the success rate is 80-90 percent, and that is because of research to help cancer patients.” Livorsi himself is a survivor of Leukemia, and credits it to the research and advancement in medicine.
