Theft occurred on Nov. 4.
Police said an incident of retail theft occurred at 12:20 a.m. Nov. 4 at 2000 Orchard Road. An African American male, wearing a grey stocking cap, purple hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, fled from the store with several bottles of alcohol without paying, police said.

On Wednesday night, Oswego East High School played host to about 115 people, there for District 308's second annual community forum. Entitled "Illegal Vices/Fatal Choices," the forum was designed to educate parents on the dangers of alcohol and illegal drugs, and give them tips on dealing with these dangers in their own families. Speakers included Kendall County State's Attorney Eric Weis, members of the Oswego Police Department, and Karen Dobner, head of the To the Maximus Foundation. Last July, Dobner's son Max was killed in a car crash after he smoked synthetic marijuana. The Oswego School District's second annual community forum at Oswego East High School brought out 115 parents, and marked the first public display of the car from the 2007 crash that killed five Oswego High students.

The twisted and torn remains of the 2001 Inifiniti sedan were parked outside the school, on a trailer, with flood lights shining on them. And above them, a sign, which read: “Five Oswego High School students were killed traveling in this vehicle with a drunk driver.” Wednesday’s forum marked the first time the car had been shown in public, according to Oswego Police Captain Jeff Burgner.
