Barbara Anne Paul, age 72, of Aurora, IL formerly of Montgomery, IL died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Jennings Terrace in Aurora, IL. She was born July 21,1940 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Leonard and Rose nee Mocarski Cieslak. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a guidance counselor at IVVC in Sandwich, IL, Rosary High School in Aurora, IL, as well as well as in Newark, IL, Naperville, IL, and Royal Oak, MI schools. She had also served on the Oswego Library District board. She is survived by her daughter Ellen Paul, grandson Riley Evan Odehnal. Robert E Berkland, 88 years, of Oswego, IL died suddenly on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born January 11, 1925 in CHicago, IL the son of the late Hogan Konraden and Mabel P nee Phillips Berkland. He served his country honorably with the US Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He had worked as an automobile mechanic for many years prior to his retirement. Capt. Brandon Lee Cyr, USAF, 28 years, of Shiloh, IL, family of Oswego, IL died while serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, when the plane he was commanding crashed in Afghanistan on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was born September 16, 1984 in Aspen, CO the son of CDR Phillip G Cyr, U.S. Navy and Deborah A (Tidaback) Cyr. Brandon was a member of the 906th Air Refueling Squadron stationed at Scott Air Force Base in IL where he played a vital role in the Total Force Integrated 126th Air Refueling Wing. A spirited officer, pilot, and friend, Capt. Cyr was known for his natural ability to lead and mentor others. Palos native Kevin Sanders spent five years working with the Plainfield Emergency Management Agency.

Kevin Sanders dedicated his life to helping people and animals. “He died doing what he loved to do by serving and protecting others and will be forever remembered as a hero,” according to the obituary for Sanders, 33. Tad served his country honorably as a member of the US Air Force. Eric Lederman, 12, was killed in a baseball accident in April 2012 in Wheaton while playing with his team. A candlelight vigil will be held in Wheaton to remember him.
Just about a year ago, a beautiful smile was dimmed in Oswego. Eric Lederman, 12, was killed in a baseball accident on April 11, 2012 while playing with his team in Wheaton. He was a catcher for the Panthers Orange 12U team and was struck in the neck with a baseball before the game started.. The community has come together to support the Lederman family, with services,fundraisers and beautiful tributes. Now, for the one year anniverary of Eric's death, the community can come together once more.
