Editor's note: The following is a press release from the Greater Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Greater Montgomery Area Chamber welcomes the public to participate in its first Alice Sutcliff Memorial Golf Classic and Dinner Thursday, July 12, at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course in Bristol.
The outing begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Registration begins at noon and dinner is at 6 p.m.
Golfers who register and pay for their foursomes before Sunday, July 1, will receive a $100 discount on their registration fees. Otherwise, the fee for golf, including cart, lunch, dinner and beverages in the course is $125 per person. Single golfers are also welcome.
Not a golfer? Not to worry. Come for dinner and you could win a variety of silent auction and raffle items donated by Chamber members, including a car wash detail by one of the GMACC board members, an overnight stay in a Spa Suite at AmericInn & Suites of Oswego, and a Dove Chocolate tasting party for up to 20 guests. The fee for dinner only is $35. Dress is casual.
Alice Sutcliff founded the GMACC in 1999. In honor of her many years of involvement with both the chamber and the community, the Montgomery Chamber has renamed its annual outing to reflect her lifelong commitment to the village.
Ten percent of the proceeds from this new event will go into a scholarship fund to help Montgomery residents obtain a college education. The first allocation of scholarship funds will be available in spring of 2013. Direct donations to the fund will also be gladly accepted.
For more information about the event, visit the Chamber website, or call (630) 897-8137.
