Editor's note: The following is a press release from Rosary High School.
All are welcome to join Rosary High School in Aurora as we begin our 50th anniversary year (1962 to 2012) with an opening Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday. Mass will be held in the school gym. An open house with refreshments and school tours will follow.
Rosary High School opened its doors Sept. 4, 1962, in the old Holy Angels Grade School with a class of 41 freshman girls. That same year, Rosary broke ground for a building at our current location, 901 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora.
Rosary High School is an all-girls, Catholic college preparatory high school sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois.
