Montgomery Fest 2012

Mostly 'ups' and a few 'downs' at the Montgomery Fest

First off, I wanted to thank everyone that came to meet my family and myself. I hope you all enjoy the free books! As a family we had a blast, but I have to say that I saw things that scared me away from the carnival rides.First, we noticed on one of the rides had broken metal supporting braces, I couldn't get my daughter off of there quickly enough. Another ride, the man that was in charge running it decided to pay no attention to the ride or kids. His cellphone was much more interesting. Finally one more ride...the man was more worried about counting his tickets. He also didn't check every kid's seat belt. We sat there forever, and when he did decide to move to the middle of the ride to start it, we had to wait for him to light his cigarette while in the midde of all the kids. I was shocked, but I don't know why I was so upset with the ride handlers; I should have expected it...it wasn't Great America. Other than that, as a family we had an amazing time. It made me realize how important getting out as a family is. Laughter really is the best medicine. And watching your youngest ride a pony, then heading into the petting zoo to see what animal was the softest in the pen...priceless! I'm wondering how long it will be before the new pet my kids want is a piglet!Thank you to all the people that planned the festival, amazing job!
