Zoephel Named Village Administrator

Oswego resident Jeff Zoephel worked as the acting village administrator in Montgomery for more than a year.

Jeff Zoephel —who has been serving as the Village of Montgomery’s Acting Administrator since April 9, 2012— was officially named Village Administrator June 6.

Prior to his appointment as Acting Administrator, Zoephel served as the Village’s Finance Director since March 12, 2001.  As the chief administrative and executive officer of the Village, Zoephel, 44, is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, coordinating, budgeting and evaluating all local government activities under the direction of the Village President and Board of Trustees.  All department heads report to the Village Administrator.

“The Village Board members feel that Jeff is the most qualified person to lead our community forward and elevate our status as a premier Fox River community.  He has proven his leadership abilities over the past year and is positioned to tackle the challenges facing this community immediately,” said Matt Brolley, Village President. “Jeff has earned the respect of Village employees and Board members.”

Under Zoephel’s leadership the past year, the Village performed a feasibility study for a TIF District along the Orchard Road corridor, received a $100,000 grant to update its Comprehensive Plan and decided to join KenCom for dispatch services, a move estimated to save the Village $500,000 annually.  Another major accomplishment has been to secure financing and begin work on important improvements to the Boulder Hill water main system.
