Village Board Candidates Forum is Tonight

Come out to Village Hall at 7 p.m. and hear what your candidates have to say.

Over the past few weeks we here at Patch have brought you coverage of the Montgomery Village Board election. We’ve posted profiles of the candidates, we’re nearly done with our in-depth Q&A features, and we plan to put up videos from each candidate next week.

But none of that is a substitute for seeing and hearing the candidates answer your questions, live.

You’ll get the chance to experience that tonight, as the Greater Montgomery Chamber of Commerce hosts a candidates forum at at 7 p.m. For the past few weeks, Patch has been collecting your questions for the board hopefuls, and tonight they’ll answer at least some of them.

Six of the seven candidates will be there. (Pete Heinz had a prior engagement, and will not be able to make it, he said.)

The forum will be moderated and broadcast live by WSPY Radio. If you miss it, though, don’t worry. Montgomery Patch will have coverage of the forum on the site tomorrow morning, and we’ll post video of the entire event over the weekend, so you can watch, listen, and make up your own mind.

This election has been one of the most hotly-contested in Montgomery’s recent history. With seven candidates vying for three open seats, voters have a lot of information to sift through, and a wealth of experience and ideas to choose from. This forum will hopefully help in doing just that.

The forum is free and open to the public. Come on out and hear what your candidates have to say, and don’t forget to vote. Early voting is underway now, and runs until March 31, with the election scheduled for April 5.
