Presidential Poll Results: Week Four

Here's how you voted in the fourth of our weekly presidential polls. Look for the fifth weekly poll tomorrow.

Week four of our presidential poll experiment has come and gone. Let’s see how you voted.

We received 102 votes this time—less than last time, but then, there were no significant developments in the race last week. There were some interesting changes in our entirely, ridiculously unscientific poll results, though.

Barack Obama won for the fourth week in a row, with 33 votes. But as I’ve pointed out before, that’s less than one-third of the total number of votes, and if the Republicans can rally behind one nominee, they’ll win. At least, they’ll win this Patch poll.

But here’s where it gets interesting. For the first time, Ron Paul took first place among the Republicans with 27 votes. Rick Santorum came in second (third overall) with 21 votes. And the guy who is still calling himself the front-runner, Mitt Romney, came in third amongst Republicans with 20 votes.

Poor Newt Gingrich, whose star has fallen tremendously in the past 30 days, only garnered one vote in this week’s poll.

What does this mean? Probably nothing, but it is an interesting snapshot of the changing political landscape. Look for the fifth of our weekly polls to go up tomorrow, and with a GOP debate set for Wednesday in Arizona, and the Arizona and Michigan primaries coming up, it should be fun to watch. Thanks for voting!
