Patch Election Q&A: Josh Salisbury on Question #2

Josh Salisbury's answer to our second question.

The question:

What are your specific ideas to make the village more business-friendly? How can Montgomery attract more businesses, and keep the ones that are here? What types of businesses would you like to see come to the village?

Josh's answer:

First cut down on the landscaping cost the village requires of the businesses in the community. The less money they have to spend on landscaping the more revenue they can use to function and to prosper and have the money to pay their taxes to the village. The more money they make the longer they will keep their business here and keep people employed.

The board needs to examine the current ordinances to make them more business friendly and not business hardship. The new businesses I would see would be a possible bookstore, a family sit-down restaurant west of Rt. 31, a seafood restaurant or a Mexican restaurant. Also maybe a furniture store in the village.
