Montgomery Offers Candidate Information Packets for April Election

The positions of village president, village clerk and three trustees will be up for election in April 2013.

Petitions and candidate information packets are now available at the Montgomery Village Hall Clerk’s Office for the April 9 consolidated election.

The filing period for candidates seeking nomination is Monday, Dec. 17 through Monday, Dec. 24.

If there are 13 candidates filing for the three trustee positions, then a primary election would be held on Feb. 26. The winners of the primary election would then be on the ballot for the April 9 consolidated election.

Voters will elect a village president, village clerk and three trustee positions for four-year terms.

To be an eligible candidate for Montgomery elections, candidates must be a resident of the village for a year prior to the election; be a registered voter; must not be in arrears in the payment of any tax or other indebtedness due to the Village; and must not have been convicted in any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury or other felony.

The Montgomery Village Hall is located at 200 N. River St.
