Montgomery Gets Award for Financial Report

For the ninth year in a row, the Government Finance Officers Association has recognized Montgomery for excellence in financial reporting.

The has been recognized for its financial reporting, for the ninth year in a row.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the village a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive report on Fiscal Year 2011, which ended on April 30.

The report, drafted by Finance Director Jeff Zoephel and his team and recently audited by Sikich and Associates, was recognized for its transparency and its commitment to full disclosure, according to village officials. Submitted reports are reviewed by an impartial panel of auditors and other financial professionals, officials said.

The village of Montgomery has received this award for the last nine consecutive years, beginning with Fiscal Year 2003.
