Five Things to Know for Election Day

Tomorrow is the primary election in Illinois. Here's a quick list of things you'll need to know.

Tomorrow is election day, and we want you to stay right here on Montgomery Patch for all your news and results. So here’s your step-by-step guide to everything you need to know for tomorrow’s election.

1. Polls open at 6 a.m., and they close at 7 p.m. We’ll be out there early (well, relatively early) taking pictures and talking to folks to get a sense of things. Say hi if you see us.

2. There are eight polling places in Montgomery and Boulder Hill. Two of them—, at 200 N. River St., and the VFW Hall at 121 N. River St.—are in Kane County, while the other six are in Kendall County. They are: Lakewood Creek Clubhouse, 2799 Lakewood Creek Drive; , 2301 Lakewood Creek Drive; , 163 Boulder Hill Pass; , 0 Boulder Hill Pass; , 63 Fernwood Drive; and , 67 Longbeach Drive.

Kane County voters can go here to find their polling place, Kendall County voters can go here. You’ll want to bring a government-issued ID with you to the polls, just in case.

3. If you live in the 11th Congressional District and you want to vote Republican, you should know that votes cast for Jack Cunningham will not count. Cunningham was last week, although his name will still appear, since there wasn’t time to reprint ballots. Signs will be posted in the polling places as a reminder.

4. You can choose a Republican ballot, a Democratic ballot, or a non-partisan ballot that just includes the local referendum questions. 5. We’ll be posting an election blog tomorrow morning, and updating it throughout the day. If you witness potentially illegal election activity in Kane County, you can call State’s Attorney Joe McMahon’s election complaint line, at 630-208-5328. In Kendall County, call State's Attorney Eric Weis' office at 630-553-4157.
