There has been a change in the upcoming Oswego 308 Board of Education election since ballots were filed last December.
Candidate Jill Ko recently withdrew her name from the ballot.
“This was an incredibly difficult decision for myself and my family. While I would like to serve and have done so in various capacities in the district for the past 14 years, I was not able to make the important 4-year time commitment to serve as a Board of Education member, due to recent changes in my commitments,” said Ko in a statement.
“I most definitely intend to stay involved and support the academics in the District through my work on the District Teaching & Learning Committee, Parents And Community for Excellence parent organization, and through drawing on my 14 years of experience being a very involved member in the school district community.”
Ko has already filed election papers with the Kendall County Clerk’s office and her name has officially been withdrawn from the Kendall County Ballot.
