Election Season: First-Day Filings in Kane and Kendall Counties

Monday was the first day of filing for the March 20, 2012 election, and candidates in both Kane and Kendall counties handed in petitions and signatures, hoping to get a chance to win your vote.

Local candidates for the established parties have until Monday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. to file those petitions with the county clerk’s office. Candidates will appear on the ballot in the order the petitions are submitted, with a lottery being held Tuesday, Dec. 6, to determine the listing order for candidates who submitted petitions right when the filing period started at 8 a.m. on Monday.

Here's a look at those running in races that affect local voters. This list was created at 4 p.m. Monday; Patch will update it daily through the filing period. An (I) after a candidate's name indicates an incumbent.
