Election 2011: West Aurora School Board

Profiles of the five candidates for four open positions on the board.

We continue our coverage of the 2011 election with a look at the five candidates for the West Aurora School Board.

Four seats on the eight-member District 129 board are opening up this year, and three of the four incumbents—Vice President Allyson Herget, Maricela Perez and Angela Smith—are running for re-election. Board Member Jim Toynton decided not to run.

The three current board members will be joined on the ballot by two challengers, Bob Gonzalez and Amie Thompson.
