Announcing Montgomery Patch's Election Coverage Schedule

The 2011 election is less than a month away. Here's what we're doing to bring you all the candidate and issue information you need.

It’s election season, and Montgomery Patch is getting into the game.

We have less than a month until the April 5 election. Do you know who your municipal and school board candidates are? Patch has you covered. Starting tomorrow, we’re going to roll out election coverage that will keep you informed right up until you step into that voting booth, and beyond.

Tomorrow on the site, we begin posting biographies of the seven candidates for the Montgomery Village Board. Three are incumbents—Jeanne Felten, Pete Heinz and Rob Watermann—and four are challengers: Stan Bond, Matt Brolley, Martin Flowers and Josh Salisbury.

We’ll be posting one biography per day, in alphabetical order, starting with Stan Bond tomorrow and wrapping up with Rob Watermann next Sunday. The following week, we’ll post answers to your questions—if you have a query for the candidates, please post it in the comments box below, or email it to andre.salles@patch.com. Only questions that apply to all seven candidates will be considered.

Finally, the week before the election, we’ll start rolling out two-minute videos from each candidate, allowing them to tell you why they deserve your vote.

While our focus will be on the Village Board election, we’ll also be posting biographies of candidates in Montgomery’s five school districts—West Aurora, East Aurora, Oswego, Yorkville and Kaneland—as well as the Oswego Library District. You’ll be able to find all of this on our new Election Central page, which goes live next week.

We hope this helps you make your decisions on April 5. This promises to be an important election for Montgomery residents, and we here at Patch want you to have all the information you need.

If you have questions for the candidates, or for us about Patch’s election coverage, you can post them in the comments, or send them to andre.salles@patch.com.
