Two Montgomery Men Charged in Drug Sting

Drug and weapons charges arise from two-month undercover operation by the North Central Narcotics Task Force.

Two Montgomery men are facing drug and gun charges as a result of a two-month undercover illegal drug distribution investigation by the North Central Narcotics Task Force.

Ronne McLarrin, 37, and Thomas Skowronski, 19, both of the 300 block of Webster Street, were arrested at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday at their home, police said. Approximately one ounce of marijuana and a rifle that had been reported stolen were confiscated in the raid, police said.

McLarrin was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of marijuana, all felonies, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, according to a Task Force press release.

Skowronski was charged with unlawful possession of a stolen weapon, a felony, and a pair of misdemeanor charges: unlawful use of a weapon without a proper FOID card, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The recovered rifle allowed to charge Skowronski with a recent residential burglary as well, police said. Montgomery police joined the Illinois State Police in assisting the Task Force on this investigation.
