Thanksgiving Traffic Safety Campaign Nets Arrests, Citations

Police were on the lookout for drivers that were driving under the influence of alcohol or not wearing safety belts.

The Montgomery Police Department successfully participated in the Thanksgiving Holiday Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation Nov. 12 through Nov. 25.

Police were on the lookout for drivers that were driving under the influence of alcohol or not wearing safety belts in an effort to reduce the number of serious traffic related injuries and deaths.

Five arrests were made and 26 citations were issued during the designated time frames throughout the campaign.
