Four Injured in Schlapp Road Crash: Police

A Plainfield teenager was seriously injured in a two-car crash at Schlapp and Cherry roads near Oswego Tuesday night, Kendall County Sheriff's police said.

According to police, at about 8 p.m., 18-year-old Daniel Valenzio was driving east on Cherry Road at Schlapp with three passengers in his car when the vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a northbound vehicle.

Valenzio was taken to Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora, said sheriff's police.

His passengers were also taken to the hospital, said police, who did not have information on their conditions Wednesday.

The driver of the second vehicle, refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.

Plainfield and Oswego EMS responded to the crash.

Valenzio was cited for failure to yield at an intersection, according to police.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that passengers in Valenzio's car were not injured. Patch apologizes for the error.
