Someone removed a screen from a window in what appears to be an attempted burglary sometime before 10:30 p.m. in the 0-99 block of Hunter Drive in Montgomery, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. The incident remains under investigation, police said.

Someone broke into an unlocked vehicle parked in the 0-99 block of Scardsdale Road in Montgomery sometime before 3:48 a.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. The incident is under investigation, police said.

Aggravated battery

Jeremy Rivers, 26, of the 500 block of Powers Court in Yorkville, was charged with aggravated battery, theft, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after an incident at the intersection of Route 31 and Caterpillar Drive in Montgomery at 8:02 p.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. Police responded to the scene after reports of two men involved in an argument, in which property was damaged. Police then stopped a vehicle matching the description of one that left the scene, and arrested Rivers, suspected of involvement in the incident, police said. Rivers was also cited for driving on an expired license, driving without a license on him, and disobeying a traffic control device, police said.

Vandalism

Someone damaged a car parked in front of a house in the 0-99 block of Chatham Place in Montgomery sometime before 5:34 p.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. This incident remains under investigation, police said.
