Sandwich Woman Sexually Assaulted at Gunpoint: Sheriff

Assailant was wearing a police or fire type uniform, pulled her over in an unmarked car about 6:47 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

A 33-year-old Sandwich woman was beaten and sexually assaulted in a cornfield Tuesday by a uniformed, masked man who pulled her over in a blue car with a flashing red and blue light, police said.

The woman told police she was driving on Griswold Springs Road about 0.25 miles west of Little Rock Road when a man driving alone in a blue Ford Crown Victoria pulled her over, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. After walking to her vehicle, the man pulled a mask over his face, pulled out a handgun and ordered the woman to walk to the cornfield next to the road. There, he beat and sexually assaulted her.

The police were called at 6:47 p.m., and the victim was taken to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich. The offender left the scene headed east on Griswold Springs Road.

The woman told police the offender is about 5 foot, 8 inches tall and about 180 pounds with an average build. He is a white man with a tan or a light-skinned Hispanic. He was wearing "a police, fire or security type uniform," according to the news release.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Kendall County Investigations at 630-553-7500, ext. 1107. Those who wish to remain anonymous should call Kendall County Crimestoppers at 630-553-5999.

The news release also stated:

The sheriff's office reminds motorists that are being stopped by an UNMARKED vehicle that they do not believe to be a law enforcement vehicle to proceed to a public area or lighted intersection and/or call 911 to verify that is it a law enforcement officer behind them prior to stopping. Motorists must obey the speed limit and stop for any traffic control devices while traveling to a public area and must be ready to explain to the law enforcement officer why they did not immediately stop.

Great Comment Silver Fox.... all this poor misguided creature did is made it tougher for the next woman who gets attacked for real, to be taken seriously. I hope that they throw the proverbial book at her to tech her a good lesson in telling the truth-- something her parents obviously never did.

I was raped in sandwich 25 years ago. It took a month to catch him. I was all messed up in the head for along time. It really pisses me off that she lied and secondly that she made my mind take me back to all that. Really think about what you did to everyone.
