Police Seek Witnesses to Accident That Sent Man to Hospital

68-year-old Robert Lubbers was struck by a car early Thursday morning at the intersection of Douglas Road and Seasons Ridge Boulevard. He remains in stable condition at Rush-Copley Medical Center.

are looking for anyone who might have seen an early Thursday morning accident that sent a 68-year-old pedestrian to the hospital. 

At about 7:55 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, a vehicle struck pedestrian Robert Lubbers at the intersection of Douglas Road and Seasons Ridge Boulevard, Police Chief Daniel Meyers said.

Lubbers was knocked to the ground, and subsequently taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Meyers said. He remains at Rush-Copley, in stable condition, according to officials there.

The accident is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed, Meyers said. Police are looking for witnesses, and sent out an alert to the department's mailing list on on Saturday afternoon. Those with information are asked to call Det. Jeff Ricedorf at 630-897-8707, ext. 3300.
