Missing Aurora Girl Returns Home

The Kane County Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday that Desiree Olivarez, 12, has returned home after going missing Monday night.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police are searching for a 12-year-old Aurora girl who did not return home Monday night, Kane County Sheriff’s deputies said.

Desiree Olivarez, of the 900 block of Ridgeway Drive in Aurora, left her home at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, police said. She was last seen by a friend in the Aurora area around 8 p.m., but did not return home. Police were informed around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to Deputy Pat Gengler.

Police do not suspect foul play, Gengler said.

Olivarez is 5-foot-2, 122 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black sweater, gray sweat pants and red and black Jordan tennis shoes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911, Gengler said.
