Police Investigating Home Invasion in Unincorporated Montgomery

A man was hit with a handgun but managed to escape the house and call police.

Kane County police are investigating a home invasion in unincorporated Montgomery during which two men entered a house and hit a resident with a gun.

The home invasion occurred at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in Kevin Drive near the intersection of Orchard Road and Route 30.

Two men, described as black and in their mid-20's, with one being 5-foot-9 with a stocky build, entered the home and confronted the only occupant, demanding he give them items they believed were inside the home.

"We were not told if they demanded anything specific but based on the circumstances we believe the suspects specifically targeted this house," PIO Pat Gengler said. It wasn't immediately clear if the men took anything, Gengler said.

One of the intruders hit the resident with a handgun. The man was able to flee the house and call police. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The suspects were driving a gold four-door Pontiac Grand Am with a missing rear hubcap. Anyone with information on this incident should call KCSO Det. Steve Collins at 630-208-2037.
