Monday, March 26

Kids behind the wheel

Two 16-year-old girls, one from Aurora and one from Oswego, were charged with driving without a license and breaking curfew after a traffic stop at 1:22 a.m. on Circle Drive West at Boulder Hill Pass in Boulder Hill, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. The vehicle was initially stopped for not having a rear registration light, police said.

Drunken driving, drug paraphernalia

Evelyn Betsinger, 32, of the 1400 block of Andover Drive in Aurora, was charged with drunken driving and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 4:29 a.m. at Route 30 and Douglas Road in Boulder Hill, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. Betsinger was also charged with speeding 64 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone and improper lane use, police said.

Drugs and alcohol

Michael Mendoza, 28, of the 1200 block of Kane Street in Aurora, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 1:40 a.m. in the 1700 block of Orchard Road, Montgomery police said. Edgar Gonzalez, 19, of the 600 block of Norton Avenue in Joliet, a passenger in the car, was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor and unlawful contact with a street gang member, police said. Mendoza's car was initially stopped for failing to signal, police said.

Hit and run, part two

Someone struck a parked car in front of a home in the 0-99 block of Fernwood Road in Boulder Hill sometime before 8 a.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. Police said the offender was driving a silver Ford SUV, and asked anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office at 630-553-7500.

Punched biker

A Montgomery teen reported that he was knocked off his bicycle and punched in the face by people he did not know at 9:30 p.m. on Circle Drive East at Old Post Road in Boulder Hill, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. The victim suffered minor facial injuries, police said, and the incident remains under investigation.

Hit and run, part two

Someone hit a box trailer parked in front of a home in the 0-99 block of Hunter Drive in Boulder Hill sometime before 7:50 a.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. The incident is under investigation, police said.
