Police Blotter: Man Leaves Scene, Hides in Shed, Gets Aggravated DUI

Monday, March 14

Hiding in shed leads to aggravated DUI

 Roosevelt McCray, 29, of the 1100 block of Pheasant Run Lane in Aurora, was charged with aggravated drunken driving (and numerous other charges) after crashing his car into a fence at 6:35 p.m. on Galena Road near Blackhawk Boulevard in Bristol Township, Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies said. According to the police report, McCray ran from the scene and hid in a nearby shed. He was also charged with aggravated driving on a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, obstructing a peace officer, and unlawful use of a weapon, police said. He was cited for driving without insurance, improper transportation of alcohol, improper lane use, improper passing and following too close, police added.

Damaged door leads to warrant arrest

Juan Prado, 27, of the 1300 block of South Broadway in Montgomery, was charged with criminal damage to property and assault after police responded to his home at 3:20 a.m. for a domestic violence call, Montgomery police said. Prado allegedly threatened a family member and damaged a door, police said. Once there, police discovered that Prado was wanted on two warrants by the Aurora Police Department, one for drunken driving and one for driving on a revoked license, according to the police report.

Stolen iPhone

Someone stole an iPhone from a fitness center in the 1600 block of Douglas Road around 11 a.m., Montgomery Police said. The iPhone is valued at $200.

Saturday, March 12

Tools taken from 4-Runner

Someone broke into a Toyota 4-Runner in the 100 block of Riverside Drive around 12:45 p.m. and stole a bag of tools valued at $1,000, Montgomery Police said.

Thursday, March 10

Game taken from store

A 15-year-old male was charged with retail theft at 8:50 p.m. at a store in the 1900 block of Douglas Road after police saw him conceal $65 in video games and leave, Montgomery Police said. He will be referred to juvenile court services, police said.
