Police Blotter: DUI, Public Intoxication

Sunday, Sept. 9
DUI
Elder Cano, 23, of the 1300 block of Watson Street, Montgomery, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police located Cano’s vehicle stuck in a muddy field at 2:50 a.m. at Waubonsia Avenue and Talma Street, police said. Reports state he was also charged with having a suspended driver’s license, no insurance and obstructing justice after he attempted to run away from the scene and was subdued by officers.
Counterfeit currency

A customer attempted to pay for merchandise with two $20 counterfeit bills at 12:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Douglas Road. Reports state the customer wasn’t arrested but the currency was collected by police who will turn it over to the US Secret Service.
Grill stolen

Someone stole a gas grill, valued at $70, from the back of a residence at 5 p.m. in the 3200 block of Julie Lane, police said.
Public intoxication
Daniel Babb, 26, of the 1700 block Deer Run Drive, Montgomery, was charged with disorderly conduct for public intoxication after police discovered Babb unconscious on the sidewalk at Seasons Ridge Boulevard and Briarcliff Road, police said.
