Police Blotter: Christmas Decoration Thefts, DUI, and Warrant Arrests

Tuesday, Dec. 13

Oh Deer

Someone stole a 2-foot-tall lighted Christmas decoration in the shape of a doe from a home in the first block of Sonora Drive in Boulder Hill around 8:30 p.m., Kendall County Sheriff’s Office deputies said. The decoration is worth about $30, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.

Someone stole $190 in Christmas decorations at 2:30 a.m. from the front yard of a home of the 2400 block of Hartfield Drive, Montgomery police said.

Driving on Suspended License

Martin Diaz, 26, of Chicago, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license after his vehicle was stopped in connection with speeding in a construction zone on Orchard and Rochester Drive, Montgomery police said.

Warrant Arrest

Angel Hyde, 34, of Aurora, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. on two warrants after being pulled over in connection with driving with a suspended license in the 500 block of Montgomery Road. The warrants were related to possession of cannabis and domestic battery, Montgomery police said.

Mob Action

Korea Carter, 21, of the 2000 block of Best Place in Aurora, was charged with mob action, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property after attacking her boyfriend with a baseball bat around 10:17 a.m. in the first block of Circle Court in Boulder Hill, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said. Rachel Numrich, 27, of the 1100 block of Amranth Drive in Naperville, was also charged with mob action after police said she drove Carter to the scene.

Friday, Dec. 16

DUI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Kristen Holmen, 24, of Lombard, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence after police said they stopped her in connection with improper lane use on Orchard and Galena Road. A pipe used to smoke cannabis was also found, so she was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Suspended License

Nancy Ramirez, 25, of Aurora, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license after being stopped in connection with having a defective windshield at Douglas and Montgomery Road, Montgomery police said.

Theft of Christmas Decorations

Someone stole $30 in Christmas decorations at 9:30 a.m. in the 2900 block of Dale Court, Montgomery police said.

Arrested at Home

Niko Flores, 22, of Montgomery, was arrested at 9:20 p.m. on a warrant related to driving with a suspended license after police came to his home to investigate a complaint about a dog at running at large, Montgomery police said.

No Valid License

Daniel Rodriguez, 21, of Aurora, was arrested at 10:10 p.m. and charged with not having a valid driver’s license after officers stopped him in connection with squealing his tires, Montgomery police said.

Hit-and-Run Driver Found

Christopher Walton, 47, of the 3600 block of Princeton Avenue in Aurora, was charged with improperly backing up and failure to report an accident to police after crashing into a parked car in the first block of Green Field Road in Boulder Hill around 7:45 a.m. and then leaving the scene, Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said. A neighborhood canvas was organized, deputies said, and tracked down Walton.

Saturday, Dec. 17

Driving Under the Influence

Joshua Schlapp, 22, of Boulder Hill, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped him in connection with improper lane use, Montgomery police said.

Theft

A customer lost her wallet after shopping in a store. An employee located the wallet, and the owner of the wallet determined $50 was missing. There are no suspects at this time, Montgomery Police said.

Sunday, Dec. 18

Driving on a Suspended License

  • Julia Ruiz, of Montgomery was arrested at 11:35 p.m. and charged with driving on a suspended license after police stopped her vehicle in connection with expired registration, Montgomery police said.
  • Darrick Simon, 38, of Aurora, was arrested at 3:41 p.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license after police stopped his vehicle when it made an illegal turn. A passenger, Darwin Triplett, 36, of Aurora, was arrested on a warrant related to driving with a license suspended.

Monday, Dec. 19 

Car Swerves to Avoid Semi

Gareth A. Ware, 30, of Peoria, was stopped in his semi after not obeying a traffic control device for the height of his semi on Route 25 and Boulder Hill Pass in Boulder Hill, police said. A second driver, Lee Jackson, 78, of Montgomery, swerved to avoid the semi and struck a vehicle heading south on Route 25. George Robbins was in the vehicle Jackson struck, and Robbins, 66, of Yorkville, was transported to Rush Copley Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries, the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said.

Tuesday, Dec. 20

Stripping a Car

Several items were taken off a vehicle parked in the driveway at 41 Alton Drive. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an unknown subject had removed all four wheels off a vehicle, and left it on bricks. The value of the wheels and tires was about $1,200, according to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.
