Police Blotter: Arson, Aggravated DUI, Disorderly Conduct

Friday, Aug. 24

Arson reported

Someone started a brush fire at 5:40 p.m. in a field at Fifth Street and Waubonsia Avenue, police said. Reports state a resident heard what sounded like young kids laughing in the field prior to the fire.

Aggravated DUI

Jorge Garcia-Cadenas, 33, of the 2200 block of Countryside Avenue, Montgomery, was arrested for felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol at 12:20 a.m. after police stopped his vehicle for improper lane usage at Brentwood Drive and Orchard Road, police said. Reports state the DUI was a felony because Garcia-Cadenas didn’t have a valid driver’s license or valid insurance.

Vehicle damage, disorderly conduct

Milko Medero, 38, of the 2400 block of White Rose Drive, Montgomery, was arrested for two counts of criminal damage to property after he allegedly broke an Iphone of a family member and caused damage to a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder by breaking its windows and denting the body at 10:25 p.m. at his residence, police said. Reports state Medero was involved in a domestic dispute with a family member prior to damaging the items. He was also charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Reports state he was transported to Rush Copley Hospital for injuries he sustained from hitting the vehicle.
