Ottawa Man Charged in Montgomery Armed Robbery

have charged an Ottawa man with an early-morning armed robbery at a pharmacy on Douglas Road last Friday.

Police said Trevor Alexander, 24, allegedly entered the 24-hour pharmacy in the 1700 block of Douglas Road around 1:20 a.m. on May 6, brandishing a knife. He demanded prescription medication, and ran from the store with $16,000 worth of it, according to Montgomery Det. Sgt. Greg Sullivan.

One hour after the robbery, LaSalle County Sheriff’s deputies stopped Alexander’s car for a minor traffic violation, and found the stolen medication, police said. After questioning Alexander, Montgomery Police detectives found the clothing and weapon allegedly used in the robbery at a family member’s house, according to Sullivan.

Alexander is on parole for an aggravated armed robbery conviction in LaSalle County, Sullivan said.
