July 27

Obstructing police

Nelson Velez, 25, of the 500 block of Oak Creek Drive, North Aurora, was charged with obstructing a peace officer after he refused to give his name when police found him sleeping in a vehicle at about 2:30 a.m. July 27. Valez was spotted behind a business in the 1400 block of Douglas Road, according to Montgomery Police reports.

Retail theft

Eugene Preuser III, 37, of the 800 block of Victoria Drive, was charged with retail theft at about 6 p.m. July 27 after attempting to steal about $1,500 worth of merchandise from a store in the 2000 block of Orchard Road, according to Montgomery Police.

Disorderly conduct

Pedro Lopez-Bailon, 37, of the 1700 block of Wick Way, Montgomery, was charged with disorderly conduct at about 4:15 p.m July 28 after Montgomery Police twice responded to a domestic dispute at his residence.  Lopez-Bailon reportedly alarmed and disturbed a family member by yelling and calling them names, according to Montgomery Police.

Break-in thwarted

Mark Judd Jr., 26, of the 800 block of 14th Ave Montgomery, and Oscar Martinez, 28, of the 600 block of N. Ohio St. Aurora, were charged with attempted burglary after police located them inside a vacant house in the 1300 block of Park Drive at about 5:30 a.m. July 29. Police were called to the home after a neighbor heard the sounds of broken glass coming from inside the residence, according to Montgomery Police.
