Multiple Burglaries Reported to Vehicles and Residences: Sheriff

Sunday, Aug. 18

Warrant

Yvette Margaret Oregon, 49, of the 100 block of Harbor Drive, Oswego, was arrested at 12:32 a.m. in the 3500 block of Route 34 on a warrant out of Will County for driving on a suspended license, said the Sheriff’s office.

Saturday, Aug. 17

Burglary to a motor vehicle

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for a burglary to a motor home that occurred between July 13 and Aug. 17 in the 8000 block of Van Emmon at the Hideaway Lakes Campground. Electronics and household goods valued at over $500 were taken from the mobile home.

Criminal damage to property

  • Sheriff’s deputies took a report of criminal damage to property that occurred between 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 13 and 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 in the 0-300 block of Boulder Hill Pass, Montgomery. The victim reported that unknown subject/s scratched the doors of his motor vehicle.
  • Sheriff’s deputies took a report of criminal damage to property that occurred between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. in the 100 block of Circle Drive East, Montgomery. A vehicle parked on the street was keyed and damage is estimated to be in excess of $500.

Friday, Aug. 16

Possession of cannabis, drug paraphernalia

Hugo Avelar-Yanez, 25, of the 3100 block of South Hamlin, Chicago; and Ramiro Lopez, 23, of the 3100 block of South Ridgeway, Chicago, were arrested at 7:38 p.m. at Van Emmon and Cardinal Lane, Bristol, and charged with the possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams and the possession of drug paraphernalia, said the Sheriff’s office.

Burglary

  • Sheriff’s deputies took a report for a burglary that occurred between 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 15 in the 0-100 block of Aldon Road, Montgomery. Miscellaneous power tools were reported taken from an unoccupied residence.
  • Sheriff’s deputies took a report for a burglary to a motor vehicle that occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 16 in the 7700 block of Route 47. A semi truck had a window broken in and damage done inside the cab.
  • Thursday, Aug. 15

Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card, possession of cannabis, warrant

A male juvenile, 17, was arrested at 11:36 a.m. at Hampton Road, Montgomery, and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, no FOID card, possession of 1.1 grams of cannabis and a warrant, said the Sheriff’s office. Deputies went to the location for a report of a person with a gun and found the juvenile in the car.

Aggravated battery

Zachary Jerry Rue Taylor Jr., 22, of the 800 block of North 11th Street, DeKalb, was arrested at 8:57 p.m. at the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility and charged with aggravated battery after punching a corrections deputy in the face, said the Sheriff’s office.

Domestic battery

David Michael Bernet, 32, of the 100 block of Heathgate Road, Montgomery, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

Warrant

  • Noel Cano, 22, of the 100 block of Boulder Hill Pass, Montgomery, was arrested at 12:05 a.m. at Greenbriar and Fernwood Roads on a warrant out of the Aurora Police Department for failure to appear for resisting a peace officer, said the Sheriff’s office. Cano was stopped for a lane use violation.
  • Kevin Scott Snow, 42, of the 100 block of Buckingham Court, Oswego, was arrested at 11:42 p.m. at Violet Patch Park, Oswego, on a warrant out of the Kendall County Sheriff’s office, said the Sheriff’s office.
  • A female juvenile, 16, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. at Fernwood Road and Aldon Road, Oswego, on a warrant out of Kendall County, said the Sheriff’s office.

No valid driver’s license

Jose Roberto Cruz-Vargas, 26, of the 300 block of Cedar Street, Aurora, was arrested at 5:22 a.m. at Galena Road and Willow Lane, Bristol, and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license after he was stopped for speeding, said the Sheriff’s office. He was also cited for speeding.

Deceptive practice

Thomas Nelson, 69, of the 800 block of Victoria Lane, Montgomery, was arrested after an investigation by the Sheriff’s office and charged with deceptive practice, a class 4 felony, after writing bad checks in May and June 2012, said the Sheriff’s office.

Wednesday, Aug. 14

Burglary

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for a burglary that occurred between Aug. 1 and Aug. 14 in the 8500 block of West High Point Road, Kendall. The victim reported his golf clubs stolen from his detached garage.

Warrant

Cornell T. Harris Jr., 20, of the 100 block of Twin Oaks Drive, Joliet, was arrested at 9:03 a.m. at Route 25 and North Street, Oswego, on a warrant issued by the Will County Sheriff’s office, said the Sheriff’s office. He also received a ticket for speeding.

Battery

Michael Lee Thomas, 39, of the 8000 block of Van Emmon Road, Yorkville, was arrested at 12:17 a.m. at his residence and charged with battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

No valid driver’s license

Jose De Jesus Guzman, 27, of the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue, Aurora, was arrested at 5 a.m. at Route 30 and Wolf Road and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license after a traffic stop for an equipment violation, said the Sheriff’s office.

Tuesday, Aug. 13

Identity theft

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported identity theft that occurred in 2008. The victim reported two fraudulent Ebay accounts were made in his name. The victim did not reportedly suffer any financial loss from the accounts.

No valid driver’s license, curfew violation

A male juvenile, 16, was arrested at 1:49 a.m. at Grove Road and Lakeview Drive and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license and a curfew violation after he was stopped for speeding, said the Sheriff’s office. He was also cited for speeding. 

Body writ

Json Anwar Sanders, 2, of the 4800 block of BoxFord Grove, Virginia Beach, Virginia, was arrested on a body writ out of Kendall County at 1:05 a.m. in the 2000 block of Orchard Road.

Monday, Aug. 12

Driving with revoked license

Charles R. Maly, 31, of the 0-99 block of Briarcliff Road, Montgomery, was arrested at 9:57 p.m. at Route 25 and Glendale and charged for driving with a revoked license after he was stopped for an equipment violation, said the Sheriff’s office.

Warrant

Justin Wade Oliver, 34, of the 900 block of Lehnertz Avenue, Aurora, was arrested on a warrant out of Kendall County for driving on a suspended license at 10:24 p.m. at Route 25 and Glendale, said the Sheriff’s office.

No valid driver’s license

  • A male juvenile, 17, was arrested at 2:44 a.m. at Route 34 and Autumn Creek, Bristol, and charged for driving without a valid license after he was stopped for speeding, said the Sheriff’s office.
  • A male juvenile, 16, was arrested at 12:04 a.m. at Bridge Street and Veteran’s Parkway and charged for driving without a valid driver’s license after he was topped for speeding, said the Sheriff’s office.

Domestic battery

Amanda Roxanne Sifuentes, 34, of Galena Road, Bristol, was arrested at 12:11 a.m. at Galena Road and charged with domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

Resisting a peace officer, trespass to property

Randall Anthony Massiah, 31, of the 1100 block of Pleasant Court, Batavia, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. in the 7500 block of Galena Road and charged with trespass to property and resisting a peace officer, said the Sheriff’s office. Massiah was found to be trespassing and when deputies attempted to arrest him he resisted the arrest. 

Domestic battery

Matthew John Murray, 49, of the 0-99 block of Eagleview Lane, Oswego, was arrested at 11:27 p.m. at his residence and charged with domestic battery, said the Sheriff’s office.

Domestic battery, criminal damage to property

Nicole Danielle Gaddy, 20, of the 1300 block of Light Road, Oswego, was arrested at 5:57 p.m. at her residence and charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property, said the Sheriff’s office.

Criminal defacement to property

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for criminal defacement to property that occurred at Buck Court and Deer Court in Kendall. Profanity=laden graffiti made in neon marking paint was found in the area.

Theft

Sheriff’s deputies took a report for theft that occurred at 12:10 p.m. in the 3200 block of Van Dyke, Minooka. A male reportedly took $10 worth of plastic flowers from the side of the roadway.

DUI, no valid driver’s license

Arturo Garrido, 27, of the 800 block of Watson Street, Aurora, was arrested at 11:02 p.m. at Route 31 and River Run Boulevard and charged with driving under the influence and driving without a valid license, said the Sheriff’s office. He was also cited for improper lane usage, speeding and running a red light. 

The public is reminded that criminal defendants are presumed innocent until the government is able to prove its charges in court beyond a reasonable measure of doubt.
