Montgomery Police to Collect Unused Medication on Oct. 29

The third National Drug Take Back Day will be held in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, police – in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration – will hold a drug takeback event at the Montgomery Police Station. The event is part of National Drug Take Back Day, designed to bring national exposure to the issue of pharmaceutical chemical abuse.

Police will be collecting unused, unwanted and expired medication from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will take controlled, non-controlled and over-the-counter medications, but no intravenous solutions, injectibles, syringes or liquids. If your medication is labeled, police ask that you remove any identifying information before handing it over.

This will be the third national Drug Take Back Day, following similar events on Sept. 25 of last year and April 25 of this one. According to the DEA website, more than 4,000 state and local law enforcement agencies took part, and collected more than 309 tons of pills.
