Montgomery Officers Honored for DUI Arrests

Four Montgomery police officers have been recognized as "Top DUI Cops" by a statewide organization, the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists.

Every year, the statewide Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists honors police officers across Illinois for cracking down on drunken drivers. This year, four Montgomery police officers are among those receiving recognition.

Officers Chris Johnson, Jacob Niete, Liz Palko and Jason Stansky all numbered among the top DUI cops in the state for 2010, according to AAIM. Each received a certificate of appreciation.

According to AAIM, the ranks 54th out of 161 communities in Illinois in DUI arrests. The 20-officer department recorded 137 drunken driving arrests, and the four honored officers were responsible for 79 of them.
