Montgomery Man Charged with Retail Theft of Lottery Tickets

The incident occurred in May of this year.

A Montgomery man has been charged with retail theft following an incident earlier in May.

Jorge Cardenas-Garcia, 34, of the 2200 block of Countryside Avenue, Montgomery, was charged with a retail theft that occurred at the Oswego Food Mart, 100 block of Light Road, Oswego on May 30, 2013. 

Deputies went to the location for a report of a man that came into the store and stole a plastic display containing Illinois Lottery tickets. 

An investigation began and on July 25 a warrant was issued for Cardenas-Garcia. On Sept. 28 he was taken into custody without incident on the Kendall County Warrant and two other warrants from the Aurora Police Department for failing to appear on a resisting a police officer charge.

The bond for the Aurora warrants was $5,000 with 10 percent applying and the warrant for retail theft was $2,000 

Cardenas-Garcia posted bond and is due next in court on Oct. 16.
