Man Dies After Being Struck by Truck at Douglas and Montgomery Roads

The accident occurred at about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday

Montgomery Police are investigating an accident that left a man dead after he was struck by pickup truck at about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Montgomery and Douglas roads, according to a release from the Montgomery Police department.

Fred C. Williams 63, of the 1300 block of S. Talma St., Aurora, was struck by a 1998 Dodge pick-up truck while crossing Montgomery Road.

The pickup was driven by Gerald Pritts, of the 1300 block of South Douglas Rd., Montgomery. Pitts was turning west onto Montgomery Road from Douglas when he struck Williams with the front of the vehicle, according to police.

Williams was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center where he died from his injuries, police said. The accident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Montgomery Police Tip Line at 630-897-8707, ext 3300.
